Great Britain Hockey continues to evolve its coaching offer based on significant research and feedback from coaches. There has been a movement away from hierarchical qualifications to a system that is Coach centred and allows for individualisation. From our research, we know that the formal learning “courses” are not the preferred method of learning for many and that coaches feel these traditional approaches have a limited impact on their coaching practice. Our coaches have told us that they like to learn through communities of practice, peer interaction, mentoring, observation (informal learning) and environment-specific workshops.
Applications for Cohort 8 are now CLOSED. Applications for the next cohort will open around Spring 2025.
