There are some events that we do not run as regularly as others (the "Game" workshops) and we put these on once there is enough demand for them. To register your interest in attending one of these events, please register your interest on this form. Once we have your details we will let you know when new events which match the criteria you have specified have been added to Hockey Hub. For any other queries please get in touch with coaching@greatbritainhockey.co.uk
What if the event is full - can I be added to a waiting list?Yes - please use the functionality on the system to do this for full events. Please note though that you will not necessarily get a full refund for future events if you choose to take up the earlier opportunity (please see our Terms and Conditions about cancelling places).
Can I pay for someone else to attend?Yes you can - in fact, you can pay for any number of people to attend - you do this using the bulk booking functionality which you can access via the "Start a Booking" link on any event. Please note that in order to confirm a place every attendee MUST have their own account on HockeyHub, so whilst anyone can add an email address to reserve a place, this place will not be confirmed until a user has a verified account. Any new users added with a bulk booking will receive an email asking them to verify their account. Once a booked user is verified, the person who initiated the booking will be contacted to make the payment.
What if I need to cancel my place?Once a user is confirmed, their booking can be cancelled using the "Manage booking" option - then by clicking on the icon. Please note that all cancellations are subject to our Terms & Conditions We are happy to transfer places though, assuming that we have been given enough notice so as not to impact the delivery of the event. If you wish to transfer, please do NOT book and pay for another date, as we are unlikely to be able to refund the full amount for the initial event.
What if I am ill on the day of the event? If you can provide a doctor's note for the day of the event, we will process refunds in line with our Terms & Conditions.
What if I do not meet the pre-requisites according to the system, but I think I am still eligible for the event? You have the option within your booking to challenge the pre-requisites. Hence, you can book a place on the system, which will hold a place for you for 5 days or up to 2 days after bookings close. You then need to select "Challenge pre-requisites" using the icon and enter why you think you meet the conditions required. The workforce team will review your challenge and you will receive an email notification of the result.
What does the voucher do that my club has told me about?Vouchers are only redeemable against online training and not against individual bookings for events. English Clubs hosting a course and making block bookings may look to pay via alternative methods - please email coaching@greatbritainhockey.co.uk or umpiring@englandhockey.co.uk to discuss your options.

What about Umpiring? In the main, most people will be looking to complete the Level 1 Umpiring Course - on completion of this, you will become Level 1 Unassessed, which some leagues will accept as enough to umpire within certain divisions; others may need to go on to be assessed by their local Umpiring Association to obtain the Level 1 Assessed status. If you are not looking to become assessed at any stage soon, then the Introduction to Umpiring Course may be a better starting point for you to use to try umpiring (on a shorter course, and lower cost). For information on Umpiring Courses, click on the Latest Event News button below. Our main offer has now moved online, and our Level 1 Courses are now 2 hours long, and are offered at £30 per person. This means anyone can access the course, and there is no longer the need for a club to "host" the course as there was before. If you wish to buy the supporting resources (Whistle and Cards/Card Wallet) which used to be included within the more expensive face-to-face course, you can buy them from our shop.
For younger / less experienced umpires, we do also offer Introduction to Umpiring, and then you will also be able to access from our event booking menu the opportunity to attend specific umpiring skill development webinars.
Which Coaching Course or Workshop should I do? Not sure what the best route to take is for your coaching? For further detail and to discover more information on the right coaching pathway for you click here or have a read of the Talent System Framework to take a look at how Great Britain Hockey wants our coaches to develop players and what is considered important within talent development.
What are the Course and Workshop Pre-Requisites? Want to check that you meet any coaching pre-requisites - check them out by reading this document. If you do not meet some of the pre-requisites you can challenge them by clicking on the three horizontal dots on the right of the screen and choosing the relevant option. This will send an email to the relevant team and they can discuss with you whether you meet the requirements or not - please do not be afraid to challenge these, as they are guidelines that have been built into an automated system - they will never cover every scenario or situation.
For umpiring, the only pre-requisite is a minimum age of 14 for the Level 1 Umpiring Course (12 for the Introduction to Umpiring), plus you must complete the online rules test as part of the courses.
Please note that for the events lasting more than one day or more than one module, you MUST attend all the days, and there is not an option to "make up" days on other courses.

What is a Time to Listen Workshop? Time to Listen is a 3-hour, interactive workshop designed for club Welfare Officers. The workshop covers several safeguarding topics, including what a Welfare Officer's role involves, how to deal with a safeguarding concern and who to speak to regarding them.
