The role of a Technical Official at any level during a match or tournament can have as much of a positive, or negative influence on the enjoyment of the players and umpires as well as impact on both sets’ performance.

Equipment Checks
A series of short instructional videos to help the Technical Officers and Judges at a tournament undertake the correct equipment checks to ensure all equipment used conforms to the FIH Rules of Hockey 2017.
Tournament Management
A series of instructional videos to aid a Tournament Director in their pre tournament administration when an event status is Verify and Tournament Director’s/ Technical Officials when the event status is In Progress.
Match Management

Classification Matches
The Classification Matches for every tournament are required to confirm pool placings and finalise arrangements for remaining matches within the tournament. The administration of this stage of the tournament is the responsibility of the TD, which can be delegated to Technical Officers.
Whilst this video is aimed at the TD and Technical Officers, we would encourage Judges to watch this as part of their continued learning.

Post Event
It is the role of the TD to officially confirm the tournament’s completion. This can be done on the evening of the competition or on the following day.

Team Manager
A series of short, instructional videos to assist Team Managers:
1.When the tournament status is Published with the pre-tournament administration of their team and team staff, including the entry of colours, naming of squads, changing player details and team staff roles and responsibilities; and
2.Once the tournament status is In Progress to enter starting lineups for matches.
We would welcome all Team Managers to use this resource to support their pre-tournament administration, as well as all TDs, Technical Officers and Judges to continue their learning of the AltiusRT system.
